Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 - T-Mobile UK

User Rating: ★★★☆☆

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA 10 will be the first Android handset from Sony Ericsson to be launched across the United Kingdom. Available exclusively from T-Mobile UK, the XPERIA 10 will be one of the first Android handsets to include the powerful 1GHz Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm.

As you'd expect from a Sony Ericsson handset, the XPERIA 10 features an eye-watering 8.1 mega-pixel camera that includes auto focus, face recognition, Geo-tagging,an image and video stabilizer, smile detection and auto touch focus.

The XPERIA X10 is a purely touchscreen display thanks to its 4.0-inch (480 x 854 pixels) TFT touchscreen display.

As we've seen from other Android handsets, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 features its own Android User Interface. Just as the HTC Hero had the Sense UI, the XPERIA X10 has its User eXperience (UX) interface.

Previously known as "Rosie", the XPERIA X10 eXperience UI will enable users to customise, and organise everything on the device thanks to one Sony Ericsson are billing as the "most open, human and intuitive user experience yet".

According to Sony Ericsson the UX user interface (built on top of Android), will create a unique user experience by combining their entertainment features with better integration with social media services and signature applications.

The handset will be powered by Android 1.6 Donut, but is expected to receive the Android 2.0/2.1 Eclair updates shortly after launch.

Other features of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 include a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity along with the usual Google Apps including Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Calendar and more.
