Orange UK have today announced that the long awaited HTC Hero Android phone is now available to buy from the Orange UK online store.

According to the Tweet from Orange, the HTC Hero will be available from Orange stores from July 22nd.

Orange will be the first UK network to offer the HTC Hero handset.

UK mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse have added a pink HTC Hero handset to their 'Coming Soon' page.

The page lists the many features of the HTC Hero along with the proposed release date of July 2009.

We know that Orange UK will offer the HTC Hero in an exclusive graphite finish, but it is not yet known what handset colours will be on offer from T-Mobile UK when they also launch the handset later this month.

Whether or not the Carphone Warehouse will hold the pink HTC Hero as an exclusive as well remains to be seen. We'll keep you posted!

Orange UK have added the upcoming HTC Hero phone to their online store. Listed as 'coming soon' there isn't any pricing or release date information just yet, but we're told that will be added sometime this week.

The HTC Hero will be Orange UK's first Android phone launch and will mark the third overall Android handset manufactured by HTC.

Orange UK will be offering an exclusive graphite finish for their HTC Hero, and whilst the different pricing options have yet to be confirmed, the handset is expected to be available free to new customers as part of a 2-year contract.

T-Mobile UK will also launch the Her across their network this month. The handset will be known as the G1 Touch and will also be available free to new users. Again, exact pricing information has yet to be announced.

Yesterday, unlocked HTC Hero handsets were made available from Amazon UK priced at £429.99.

Amazon.co.uk have recently added the upcoming HTC Hero Android phone to their mobile phone section. The handset us currently available for pre-order priced at £429.99 with a listed release date of July 15th.
