Phone industry website Mobile Today have revealed that Vodafone will launch their first Android powered handset on May 1st as opposed to their original launch date of sometime in April.
The article also goes on to mention that the phone will be called the HTC Magic Pioneer and will be available Free from Vodafone as part of a £25 per month contract.
No sources were mentioned nor quoted in the article, and as you can see from the Official Vodafone website there is no information to suggest the launch has been delayed.
We'll keep you posted on the latest HTC Magic (Pioneer?) updates, but until we hear some official confirmation this is almost certainly flagged as rumour.
During a Samsung dealer show in Amsterdam earlier today, Samsung revealed their first Android phone. Sadly the only image to surface from the meeting of the Samsung phone is this somewhat crappy pic.

Anyway, the Samsung Android phone will apparently include a nice large touchscreen display, a 528MHz processor and plenty of internal memory with support for memory card expansion.
Other than that we dont know a whole lot about Samsung's first foray into the world of Android, although an official announcement from Samsung is expected soon.

Here's some video footage of a hands-on demonstration for the upcoming HTC Magic Google phone. Sadly the video isn't in English, but it does show some good footage of the Magic in action and helps to give a clearer indication of how the mobile phone handles.
Exclusive to the Vodafone network, the HTC Magic will mark the second HTC handset to be released by the Google Android platform, and unlike the T-Mobile G1, the Magic will be a purely touchscreen phone.
The Vodafone Magic is scheduled for release in April, and amonst other features will include a 3.2 megapixel camera, HVGA touchscreen display, built-in GPS, and Wi-Fi support along with the popular web browsing software from the G1.
Vodafone is a UK based mobile phone network you can read more about Vodafone here.
Earlier this morning T-Mobile held a dedicated Android event in London to discuss Android's impact on the mobile industry in the UK and it's achievements with T-Mobile.
During the talk T-Mobile UK's head of internet and entertainment, Richard Warmsley revealed that paid applications will be available in the UK Android Market from tomorrow.
"From tomorrow, UK customers will have paid apps on the phone, and there'll be a wide selection of paid apps on the market"
Other than the Android Market announcement, little else was shared during the event. T-Mobile UK didn't reveal any specific information on future handsets other than to say that, "We're looking at what comes next for T-Mobile with Android," he says. "We're certainly not in the range of having a tight number of exclusive devices and locking everything else out. We want a range."
In regards to G1 sales, Warmsley noted that at present the T-Mobile G1 is accounting for some 20% of all T-Mobile UK's handset sales and is hitting 70 per cent of the iPhone sales in the UK.

Following Vodafone's recent announcement that they plan to launch the second Android phone in April - The HTC Magic, the only images of the handset that have been circulated are of the white model.
Whilst we love the style of the HTC Magic White, the black model has recently been spotted at the CeBit show, and here's some of the snaps.

As you can see from the images, the device is branded with the HTC logo which backs up predictions that the handset is due to hit the United States later this year as the HTC G2. But luckily for us in the UK we can get our hands on this beauty in April thanks to Vodafones exclusivitiy.
